Now 80 percent of BN's new faces are in Selangor among them professionals and credible individuals in an effort to wrest the state from Pakatan Rakyat.
Announcing the new line-up, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who is also Selangor BN chairman said the candidates were the best transformational line-up to recapture Selangor from the opposition and to form a strong state government.
The BN candidates were selected after taking into account their popularity at the grassroots level, people-friendly demeanour and preparedness to provide dedicated service to the people.
Determined to return the state to its former glory he said BN is confident the new line-up will carry out the coalition's mandate and deliver all their pledges.
Umno will contest nine parliament seats and 35 state seats while MCA will represent BN in seven parliamentary constituencies and 14 states.
MIC will contest in four parliamentary seats and three state seats and Gerakan in three state seats and one parliamentary seat.
PPP will have one state seat while BN-friendly independent Zulkifli Noordin will contest in Shah Alam parliamentary seat on BN's ticket.
The BN candidates for Selangor comprise professionals such as lawyers, engineers, accountants and businessmen.
The youngest candidate is 33 years old while the eldest is 61.
