Datuk Seri Najib also attributed BN's strong showing in rural and urban areas in Sarawak as an endorsement of a shift in trust by the people towards coalition.

He added the swing in urban votes to BN also caused DAP five seats from its urban strongholds.

The premier said the opposition's ploy to use the Goods and Services Tax, GST as issues in campaigns had failed because the people of Sarawak are aware and accept the reason for the implementation of GST.

Datuk Seri Najib also hinted that the landslide victory of the Sarawak BN would also serve as a momentum and signal for BN to continue working hard for the 14th General Election.

DAP won only seven out 31 seats it contested in yesterday's state election, while BN won 72 seats and PKR retained its three seats.
