The premier also said that Sarawak needs candidates with the calibre and commitment to bring about changes and development to the people and state, and not those who are merely 'parachute candidates' or fly-by-night candidates".
The criteria was needed because the people need leaders who have the distinction, commitment, quality and calibre to be a part of the state government and contribute to the administration of the state.
The Prime Minister also reiterated his call to the people, especially voters in Sri Aman, to vote for BN under the leadership of Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem so that the development agendas that have been planned can be continued.
He said this in his speech when visiting the Faizal Anak Edmund Minit Long House in Engkeramut, situated about 40 kilometres from Sri Aman.
The federal BN chairman later announced an allocation of RM200,000 to upgrade the long house which has 253 residents.
He also approved the construction of a new building for Sekolah Kebangsaan Bakong.
